Details

The Modular Data Recorder (MDR) is an airborne flight-test instrumentation platform for collecting and recording data in demanding aircraft environments. Its modular design allows engineers to choose cost-effective or high-capacity configurations according to signal diversity, storage duration and environmental constraints. Safran lists mainframes with two, four or eight module slots, with interface modules selected for the sensors and buses used on the test aircraft. The platform also provides onboard processing such as filtering and decimation, data management and UDP or IRIG 106 Chapter 7 streaming. Final storage, interfaces and qualification levels depend on the configured MDR system.
