Cortex BSS

Cortex BSS is a Best Source Selector for telemetry infrastructures that receive the same airborne signal through multiple antennas or receiving sites. The unit evaluates available sources in real time and selects the most suitable feed for downstream processing. This helps a range maintain telemetry continuity when aircraft geometry, masking, interference or changing link conditions reduce the quality of any single antenna path. As part of Safran Data Systems’ Cortex ground equipment family, BSS is intended to integrate with receiver, recording and processing workflows rather than operate as an isolated analysis tool. Configuration depends on the number and type of source feeds in the station architecture.
