Crashworthy External Fuel System

(CEFS)

Single Internal Auxiliary Fuel Tank System

Details

The Crashworthy External Fuel System (CEFS) gives UH-60 A/L/M operators an auxiliary fuel solution designed around aircraft survivability and efficient mission turnaround. Robertson specifies crashworthy and self-sealing construction in accordance with MIL-DTL-27422, with as many as four external tanks supported. Each tank can be installed or removed in approximately 15 minutes when the dedicated lifter system is used. The system integrates single-point pressure refuelling, cockpit fuel-quantity indication and suction-based fuel transfer, helping crews extend range without relying on a separate transfer pump in tactical conditions. Aircraft-specific integration and final configuration remain subject to platform and mission requirements.
