Pulse MZ Modulator Bias Controller

MIN-bias locking with 50 ± 0.05 dB extinction ratio for optical pulse generation

Exail pulse drivers photonics — official Exail product image (temporary preview)

Overview

Mach-Zehnder drift caused by aging and environmental changes destroys pulse extinction ratio at the MIN bias point. Exail MBC-DG-LAB-based pulse bias control locks and holds the MIN point, preserving high extinction ratio for optical pulse generation from 760 nm up to 2200 nm.

Key features

  • Auto-set bias points (MIN, MAX, QUAD ±)
  • Continuous tuning of the operating point
  • USB remote control
  • Operating wavelength from 760 nm up to 2200 nm
  • LiNbO3, InP and GaAs modulators

Specifications

  • Operating wavelength: 760 nm to 2200 nm
  • Locking accuracy @ Quad: 90 ± 0.5 degree
  • Extinction ratio at MIN mode: 50 ± 0.05 dB

Applications

  • Optical pulse generation
  • High-extinction-ratio pulse chains
  • LiNbO3 modulator stabilization
