Polarization Switches & Scramblers

Integrated-optic PSC-LN scramblers and PSW-LN switches from DC to more than 10 GHz

Exail polarization switches scramblers — official Exail product image (temporary preview)

Overview

Exail polarization scramblers (PSC-LN) and polarization switches (PSW-LN) are integrated-optic devices built on a low-loss single-mode waveguide. They modulate polarization at frequencies from DC to more than 10 GHz across an optical bandwidth wider than 100 nm, covering the C+L bands.

Key features

  • C+L band operation
  • DC to more than 10 GHz
  • Low insertion loss
  • Elimination of polarization sensitivity (depolarizing)
  • Polarization scrambling
  • Interferometers and sensors

Specifications

  • Modulation: DC to more than 10 GHz
  • Optical bandwidth: more than 100 nm (C+L bands)

Applications

  • Polarization scrambling and depolarizing
  • Interferometers and sensors
  • Elimination of polarization sensitivity in fiber systems
